The Northline Development created a new center for the City of Leander. The 89- acre horizontal mixed-use project includes new public infrastructure for roadways, water, wastewater, drainage, gas, and electric utilities that form 23 new blocks in the town center. These blocks will be developed into various uses, including office, multi-family, restaurant, and administrative spaces. The development of the site includes +7,600 LF of new roadway, +6,000 LF of 8-inch SDR-26 PVC wastewater main, +7,500 LF of new domestic ductile iron water/ reclaimed water mains that range in size from 8- to 12-inch, and +6,500 LF of new gas and electric lines.
In addition to the public roadways and utility mains designed for this area, the overall project is also being mass graded, and two wet ponds are being installed over the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) Edward’s Aquifer Contributing Zone. Designing and permitting the Northline project required the concerted effort of a multi-faceted design team to work with the many jurisdictional reviewers who had to approve the project, including the City of Leander, TCEQ, Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), and the Pedernales Electric Cooperative (PEC). WGI is proud to have worked on this transformative project.
