This project involved interchange improvements in the form of additional turn lanes and ramp widening to improve interchange and intersection capacity. Close coordination with Collier County was required for design and SFWMD permitting due to the simultaneous widening of Collier Boulevard from 4 to 8 lanes (joint-use treatment and attenuation drainage systems). Interchange improvements included ramp widening, milling and resurfacing, signing and pavement marking, including new overhead truss guide signs for exit ramps, mast arm signal replacement at the ramp intersections, and ITS CCTV pole relocation. Coordination with the County on the placement of signing, signalization, and accommodations for a new multi-use trail was also required. This 1.25- mile project’s survey included horizontal and vertical control, alignment, and topography (Digital Terrain Modeling) on the ramp.
