WGI performed a comprehensive condition appraisal of each structure to determine the general condition and review alternative repair and protection methods and relative costs. Extensive testing was performed, including chlorides, petrographic, and exploratory excavations. A full economic life cycle analysis was completed for each option to compare the initial versus long-term maintenance costs.Â
Based on the data collected, it was determined the Parking Structure No. 1 slab was at a critical point with long-term serviceability. The City elected to demolish Parking Structure No. 1 due to its severe deterioration.Â
Parking Structure No. 2 was in fair to good condition. The City elected to maintain the structure, and repairs would be performed at a later date.Â
