WGI was responsible for establishing horizontal and vertical control and the construction layout for Phase 1A and the Crypts Area of the South Florida National Cemetery. The hurricanes of previous years and the above-average rainfall at the start of the project made for a challenging site to access and perform surveying tasks.
WGI performed the first phase of the 313-acre site, which included over 10,000 burial sites and was designed to meet the needs of the first four years of operation. The site, once completely built out, will meet the needs of South Florida Veterans for the next 50 years. The South Florida National Cemetery is available to military veterans, their spouses and dependent children.
