The Wall Street Parking Deck consists of a double helix with crossovers at the ends and the structure’s middle. The structure has four levels (3 supported and one slab-on-grade) and provides parking for approximately 235 vehicles. Overall plan dimensions for the parking deck are 88 feet in the north-south direction and 332 feet in the east-west direction, yielding an approximate footprint area of 27,900 square feet. The total supported area is 68,600 square feet, and the slab-on-grade area is 15,800 square feet. The structural system utilizes precast, prestressed concrete construction. Precast concrete structural members include double tees, light walls, inverted tee beams, and columns. A 2-inch thick cast-in-place concrete topping over the double tees creates the finished floor and wearing surface. The Wall Street Parking Deck was built around 1987.Â
WGI completed a structural evaluation of the deck and outlined several issues impacting the durability of the structure. The repair program included precast concrete repair (tee flange, columns, corbels, tee stems), sealant replacement, expansion joint replacement, and sealer application.Â
