(West Palm Beach, FL – March 2013) Wantman Group, Inc. (WGI) is pleased to announce their selection by Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise to provide professional engineering, survey, utility and permitting services for a $37 million project on Florida’s Turnpike in Broward County, Florida. The project, officially called All Electronic Toll (AET) Conversion Phase 5B – Sawgrass Expressway, consists of the conversion of the Sawgrass Expressway/SR 869 to an all electronic tolling (AET) facility from Interstate 75 to the Florida’s Turnpike Mainline/SR 91. The conversion of the Sawgrass Expressway continues FTE’s future tolling vision and by the end of 2014, the Sawgrass Expressway’s transactions (representing 10% of all transactions on FTE’s System of Toll Roadways) will be collected electronically from SunPass or TOLL-BY-PLATE customers. WGI staff has considerable prior experience with limited access projects across the state, including significant projects on I-95, I-75, and I-595. Comprehensive services, including Roadway and Drainage Design, Utility Coordination, Environmental Permitting, Survey, Quality Control and Public Involvement, will be provided.
“We are pleased to once again partner with Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise. This team’s qualifications, experience, and depth of resources make us uniquely qualified to be successful on this project.” said David Wantman, President of WGI. “Projects like this are an encouraging indication that Florida remains committed to improving the state’s infrastructure which, in turn, fuels the economy through job creation and reduced travel times.”
